the character screen:
this screen is the main souce
of information about a charac-
ter. it is accessible by
clicking on one of the charac-
ter portraits located at the
bottom of the screen.
the layout of the screen is
quite simple. situated in
the upper left-hand corner is
the character portrait.
directly below this portrait is
the backpack or inventory. to
the right of the portrait can
be found the left and right
hands. beside the hands is the
pool gold and drop item icons.
below here is a diagram of a
humanoid body with many boxes
situated in key spots. fin-
ally, in the lower right-hand
corner a page-flip icon can
be found.
character picture:
the character picture can be
described as the physical
appearance of the character.
clicking here will return you
to the main screen.
backpack:
there are twelve item places
directly below the character
picture. this is a storage
place for items that a charac-
ter is neither holding nor
wearing. All items occupy one
space except for missle amo.
they can be piled on top of
each other.
items can be easly moved by
selecting an item and clicking
on an alternate box. To move
between characters, select an
item and then select one of the
portraits located on the bottom
of the screen. A new screen
will appear that represents the
character selected. you can
now select an empty box and
the item will appear in that
area.
hands:
this is the representation of
a characters hands. if an item
is within one of these boxes,
that item is currently readied.
weapons and shields must be in
a characters hand to be used.
pooling and dropping:
pooling gold is the movement
of all of the partyies gold to
one character. the character
who is receiving the gold is
the character who is currently
displayed.
dropping an item will permen-
ently remove the item from the
partyies possession. Note that
this aciton is irreversible.
select an item by clicking on
the box that the item occupies,
then select the drop icon. a
yes no confirmation box will
appear.
diagram:
boxes surround a diagram of the
body. these boxes represent the
area to which they are pointing.
moving an item to one of these
boxes will equip that item to
that specific area. for
example, put the helmet in the
box that points to the head.
page flip:
this simply flips the page.
the next page of the carhacter
screen show all of the stats of
the character. while viewing
these stats, click on the
portrait to return to the game
play screen or the page flip
to return to the item area.
